Overdrive
With OverDrive, you can borrow and enjoy free eBooks, eAudiobooks, and eMagainzines from the Library’s shared provincial digital collection.
All you need to get started is an internet connection, your ereader, mobile device, or computer – and your library card. Get started by downloading the (free) Libby app from your app store.
Kanopy is an on-demand streaming video platform for public libraries that offers viewers a large collection of award-winning, indie, and foreign films and documentaries.
Kanopy includes children’s programming with its subdivision Kanopy Kids.
Kanopy’s collection features over 30,000 films. Dozens of new releases are launched weekly (approx. 150-200 per month), ensuring the collection is fresh with relevant and current content.
Using Kanopy
- Create/Sign into your personal account.
- Log in with your Library eResources number (on your library card)
- Browse the collection and start watching.
Merrickville Library members can watch 10 Kanopy titles free each month.
Note: Each title is “checked out” for 72 hours per film credit. A film/documentary can be watched multiple times within this time period. Public Performance rights are included.
You can stream videos on your computer – and on your phone/tablet, or TV.
