Seedy Saturday – Apr 20

graphic for Seedy Saturday, April 20

Seedy Saturday is a Seed and Seedling Swap on April 20, from 9:00 am – 12:00 pm, at the Library (outside, weather permitting).  Bring seeds or seedlings to give away, to exchange, or just come to pick some up – and see what’s available in the Seed Library!

And we’ll have speakers!  Come find out about

  • Seed Starting with Mathew Levinson (Slow Roots Farm),
  • No-Till Gardening with Claire Sexton (Healthily Ever After),
  • and  Native vs Invasive Plants with Eleonora Roberts (MaD Gardeners)

The MaD Gardeners and the Trails Society will be there with information, as will Seeds of Diversity and Canadian Organic Growers – plus local seed vendors!  And there’ll be something for the kids!

This is a free event, but donations are appreciated to support next year’s Seed Library.  We hope to see you there!

Seed Library

But you don’t have to wait until Seedy Saturday to get started!  The Seed Library is now open during all regular Library hours.  We have a great selection of vegetable, herb, and flower seeds – free for community members to take and grow at home.    A big thank you to all the local growers who have donated seeds – and to our sponsor seed companies McKenzie & Stokes for donating a selection of seeds this year! Note: we are still accepting seeds, if you have some to donate.  This is a joint project with Sustainable Merrickville-Wolford.

COVID information

The Library remains open for our regular winter hours with a maximum capacity of 10 people.
