Seed Library is Open!

planting seeds

The Seed Library is now open for 2024!  Once again, free vegetable, herb, and flower seeds are available at the Library for community members to grow at home.

We’re very excited to announce that Mackenzie Seeds and Stokes have generously donated seeds to sponsor the Seed Library this year!  We’d also like to thank all the local gardeners and farmers who donated a great selection of seeds, and everyone who donated money to allow us to purchase other popular choices to supplement our inventory of local seeds.

We are still welcoming seed donations! If you have seeds to share we would be delighted to receive them. With your help we can make the Seed Library truly sustainable for our community.

Seed libraries provide vegetables and herbs to support local healthy food supplies. They help promote and protect genetic diversity, local climate-adapted seed stock, self-sufficiency and community resilience through better food security.

The Seed Library is a joint project of Sustainable Merrickville-Wolford and the Library – with support from the Merrickville Lions Club.

COVID information

The Library remains open for our regular winter hours with a maximum capacity of 10 people.
