Off the Shelf! (Mon, Sept. 16, 7:00):

Our popular “Readings for Adults” program is back for another year of literary gems – humorous, dramatic, but always entertaining.     You don’t want to miss it!  Mark the 3rd Monday of the month on your calendars, or contact the library if you’d like to be added to our e-mail list

MakerSpace 101: For Adults & Teens:

Wish you were “crafty”, but aren’t sure how to get started?  The Library will continue to offer free workshops on a variety of “maker” activities this fall.  Contact the Library to register.

Paper Crafts & Card-Making (Thurs, Sept 19, 7:00 pm):

Join Nancy Cain for to get started at Paper Crafting.  Make your own beautiful cards, something special for scrapbooking, and more!  This is a hands-on session: tools & supplies will be provided – you bring the creativity.  Registration required.

Watch for sessions on other crafting skills and another 3-D printer session coming up later this fall!

Story Trail (Mondays, 10:00 & 10:30 am):

There’s a new story on the Story Trail!  If you loved “The Gruffalo”, come by anytime to enjoy “The Secret Shortcut” by Mark Teague.  Narrated walks continue on (non-rainy) Monday mornings at 10:00 & 10:30.  The Story Trail (located on the Woodland-Toboggan Hill Trail starting by the Merrickville Public School parking lot) will be up until Thanksgiving!

StoryTime (Fridays, 10ish):

We’ll be kicking off the season with an outdoor Storytime (whether permitting).  Our drop-in StoryTime is a great way for toddlers and preschoolers to develop early literacy and group interaction skills in a fun and relaxed setting.  StoryTime promotes key skills that will help your child become a successful reader – through stories related to a theme, songs, rhymes & rhythm instruments. Plus, a simple craft to encourage motor skills.  New StoryTimers are always welcome!

LEGO Builder Club (Saturdays, 10-12, drop-in):

Drop by on Saturday mornings to build with LEGO and explore our other building toys: gears, magnets & more. Bring a friend for some heavy-duty construction fun.
