TD Summer Reading Club Starts in July!
Calling all kids to the TD Summer Reading Club for school-aged kids (sponsored by the TD Financial Group)! This summer’s Club is all about “The Natural World”. Join and get a ticket for our summer prize draws for every book you read! Come by the Library to check out this year’s great prizes. You can do the TD Summer Reading Club as an independent reading program – or join us for our…
Reading Club Explorer Space (Thursdays, 2:00 pm, starts Jul 4):
Join our Thursday afternoon Explorer Space at 2:00 for Nature-inspired art projects and science activities! We’ll be crafting our own sea turtles, flowers, and insects, as well as investigating the science of water, circuits – and Animal Skulls with Andrea Howard (The Bug Lady). Lots of fun for ages 4-12. Contact the Library to register.
Nature Moments: Video Making! (Thursdays, 3:30 pm):
This summer older kids can join us to make and star in short videos about Nature – sharing some fun facts and learn to edit and add cool green screen effects. We’ll also be screening some short nature films generously made available by the NFB for the TD Summer Reading Club. For ages 10 & up.
Note to Parents: Research shows that kids can lose up to 2 months of literacy skills over the summer. Reading programs have been shown to help keep up these skills by encouraging kids to read for pleasure and develop the reading habit. Register your kids today!
And there’s more!
Thomas the Tank Engine Play Day (Sat, July 6, 10:00 am – 1:00 PM):
Calling all Thomas the Tank Engine fans! Come play with Thomas, Percy, James and other steamies! We’ll have trains, tracks, and everything you need for great adventures!
LEGO Builders Club (Saturdays, 10 – 12 noon):
Drop by on Saturday mornings this summer to construct with LEGO and our other building toys (blocks, gears, magnets, K’nex). Bring a friend for double the fun!
StoryTime (Fridays, 10ish):
StoryTime for ages 6 & under (and a parent/caregiver) continues through the summer! It’s a fun way to prepare for starting school this fall.
