Friday movies (starting Feb. 8, 2:00 pm):

The Library will be starting up our Friday afternoon movies again in February (starting Feb. 8).  Thanks to our new film-streaming subscription, we’ll be showing award-winning indie and art house films. Contact the Library to find out what’s playing this month.

Valentines Party (Sat, Feb. 9, 11:00 am):

Love books? Love having fun? Then come to the Library’s Valentines Party on Sat, Feb 9.  Join us for stories, games, crafts, and treats to celebrate Valentines Day. We’ll have activities for kids in primary grades, preschoolers & toddlers!

Art Workshop for Kids (Sat, Feb. 23, 1:00 pm):

Continuing this month is our series of MAG (Merrickville Artists Guild) art workshops introducing kids to a variety of art techniques on the theme of heros – legendary and super. In the fall, MAG artists Mary Loos and Larry Thompson shared painting and print-making. This month Martin Green will be lending his artistry as the kids make a sculpted bas relief griffin, dragon, unicorn, or other mythical beast out of modeling clay. Thanks to MAG and Gloria Stowell for donating their time to spark young imaginations.

Off the Shelf (Mon, Feb. 25, 7:00 pm – special date):

This month’s “Off the Shelf” will bring a little romance to our theme of “Home”. Off the Shelf has a special date (Feb. 25) due to Family Day. Don’t miss this evening of sweet nothings and light refreshments for adult listeners.

StoryTime (Fridays, 10ish):

Our Friday morning drop-in has stories, songs, rhymes, rhythm instruments, and a simple craft for toddlers and preschoolers. It’s a great way to encourage early literacy skills and socialize with other kids in a relaxed atmosphere. New StoryTimers are always welcome!

Tech Club/Lego Club (Saturdays, 10-12, drop-in):

Drop by on Saturday mornings to build with LEGO and explore our other building toys: gears, K’nex, magnets & more. Bring a friend for some heavy-duty construction fun.
