TD Summer Reading Club!:

The library is running the TD Summer Reading Club to encourage reading for kids of all ages! If you’re not involved yet, it’s not too late! Get a ticket our Prize Draw for each book read.

Tech Club (New Time! – Wednesdays, 6:30 pm):

The Library’s popular new Tech Club is moving to Wednesday evenings (at 6:30 pm) for August.  “Tech Club” is getting school-aged kids engaged with science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) subjects in a fun and interactive way. Schools are focusing on STEM subjects – and Tech Club makes the learning fun.  Join us to explore, build, and learn with our high (ozobot, makey-makey, osmo and more) and low (k’nex, LEGO, magnets, & more) tech.

Maker Space (Thursdays at 2:00 pm):

We also have our MakerSpace (crafts and activities) for school-aged kids on Thursday afternoons.  This month we’ll be becoming passionate about magic, construction, yarn crafts, and food decorating!  Contact the library – or drop by – for more info.

StoryTime (Fridays, 10ish):

StoryTime for ages 6 & under (and a parent/caregiver) continues through the summer! Join us for stories, rhymes & a simple craft – plus practice listening skills, taking turns, and being part of a group. It’s a fun way to prepare for starting school this fall.

LEGO Club (Saturdays, 10 – 12 noon):

Indulge your passion for building with LEGO on Saturday mornings between 10 and noon.

Museum Passes & MAPsacks:

Visiting a museum is a great summer activity. The library lends family passes for many Ottawa museums: Science & Tech, History, Nature, Agriculture, Space & Aviation, War, & the Ottawa Museum Network, the National Gallery – and the Brockville Aquatarium. Many museums have special summer events. The Library also lends MAPsacks – a backpack with nature stories, guidebooks, binoculars and other gadgets – plus a family pass to the Ontario Parks or RVCA conservation areas.

Reduced Library Hours Aug 27 – Sept. 3:
