NOTE: Easter Hours!

The Library will be CLOSED on Fri, Mar. 30  and Mon, Apr. 2. 
But the Library will be OPEN on Sat, Mar. 31

Coding Club (Wednesdays at 7:00, starts Apr. 4):

In our spring session, coding mentor Drew Avis will have our more experienced coders working in “Dart”, a programming language from for web and mobile apps. Beginners will be working in “Scratch”. Please contact the library to register.

NEW! Youth Art Workshops (Sat, Apr. 7, 1:00):

Local jeweler Kenna McCall (Terradore Jewelry) will be running a new series of free art workshops for ages 12+. Experiment with pour painting, fibre art, mixed media, jewelry-making & more. It’s a great opportunity to explore a variety of art techniques. Materials and instruction provided. Come get your art on! Contact the library to register or for more information.

Art Workshop for Kids (Sat, Apr. 14, 1:00-3:00):

Join Gloria Stowell for a “Mom and Me” art workshop for kids aged 8 – 11 and Mom, Grandma, or other special lady. Work together to create a collage of a bird nest and eggs on a painted canvas using strips of old music paper, feathers, and dried petals. Contact the library to register.

Off the Shelf! (Mon, Apr. 16, 7:00):

This month Off the Shelf will partner with MAG Outreach to celebrate Poetry Month. Join us for an evening of poetry reading (and maybe musical recitations!) Bring your favourite poem, or a poem of your own, to share.

Art in the Library: Laurie Carter talks Emily Carr (Mon, Apr. 23, 7:00):

Explore the evolution of Canadian icon Emily Carr from conventional watercolourist – to dedicated recorder of Indigenous culture – to innovative explorer of new materials – to groundbreaking seeker of spirituality in nature. This lively slideshow presentation by Laurie Carter, author of Emily Carr’s BC, reveals the events and influences that shaped the art of a legend.

Photoshop Workshop (Sat, Apr. 28, 10:30 am):

Join Chris Chinkiwsky to learn more about using Photoshop to make your photos amazing. This time participants are invited to bring their laptops for some hands-on help. Contact the library to register.

Friday Movies at the Library (Fridays, 2:00 pm):

Join us for Friday afternoon movies for adults.  Bring a friend and enjoy a relaxing afternoon of big films on the big screen.  Contact the library for movie titles and trailers.

StoryTime (Fridays, 10ish):

Bring your toddler or preschooler (ages 5 & under) to the library for StoryTime Friday mornings at 10:00(ish). Our drop-in StoryTime is a great way to develop your child’s early literacy and group interaction skills in a fun and relaxed setting. StoryTime encourages key skills that will help your child become a successful reader – through stories related to a theme, songs, rhymes & rhythm instruments, and a simple craft. New StoryTimers are always welcome!

LEGO Club (Saturdays, 10 – 12 noon):

Our drop-in LEGO Club (for ages 4 & up) continues on Saturday mornings between 10 and noon.
