NOTE: Early Closing!

The Library will be OPEN on Wed, Jan. 31  and Thurs, Feb. 1 from 2:00 – 5:00 pm ONLY.
The Library will be closed in the evening on both these days.

Teen Youth Group! (Fri, Feb. 9, afterschool):

We’re excited to welcome back Youth Group! The group will be hanging out and doing fun stuff.  We’ve got lots of possibilities:  maker activities, tech activities (play with our green screen, stop motion photos, makey-makey…) — and art (with local artist Kenna McCall).  Come by and see what we’re up to!  For ages 12+ ; contact the Library for more information.

Brenda Carter Memorial Art Workshop for Kids (Sat, Feb. 24, 1:00-3:00 pm)

This month our kids’ art workshop will focus on the night sky. Using metallic colours, from paint to pastels, local artist and teacher, Gloria Stowell, will lead our artists in creating a glowing constellation of stars sliding along the Milky Way, glowing in the moonlight,  and exploring the magic of the Northern Lights!

Registration is required for this free art workshop for kids aged 8-11.

Off the Shelf! (Mon, Feb. 26, 7:00 pm):

This month’s Off the Shelf will feature readings about the Love of the Journey – and the journey of Love.  We’ll also have our traditional romantic(?) scene in honour of Valentine’s Day.  Off the Shelf has a special date due to Family Day.  Don’t miss this evening of sweet nothings and light refreshments for adult listeners.

Friday Movies at the Library (Fridays, 2:00 pm):

Our afternoon movies for adults are back.  Bring a friend and join us for a cozy afternoon of Academy Award nominees from previous years. Click here for movie titles and trailers.

StoryTime (Fridays, 10ish – StoryTime cancelled Feb. 2):

Bring your toddler or preschooler (ages 5 & under) to the library for StoryTime Friday mornings at 10:00(ish). Our drop-in StoryTime is a great way to develop your child’s early literacy and group interaction skills in a fun and relaxed setting. StoryTime encourages key skills that will help your child become a successful reader – through stories related to a theme, songs, rhymes & rhythm instruments, and a simple craft. New StoryTimers are always welcome!

LEGO Club (Saturdays, 10 – 12 noon – LEGO Club cancelled Feb. 3):

Our drop-in LEGO Club (for ages 4 & up) continues on Saturday mornings between 10 and noon.
