Brain Health Awareness Experience (Tues, Sept. 12 & 19, 2:30 – 4:00)
Learn about brain health in an informal, friendly community setting at this talk by the Alzheimer Society. Topics include: tips for healthier brains, dementia awareness, and community support. This is appropriate for the general public, seniors, health professionals, caregivers, students, those living with dementia, and family members.
Off the Shelf! (Mon, Sept. 18, 7:00 pm):
Our popular “Readings for Adults” program is back for another year of literary hi-jinks with hosts Martin Green & Lesley Strutt! Our June season finale, which featured personal travel stories from a number of our more intrepid travelers, played to a packed house – and has inspired us to continue with more travel experiences this month – humorous, dramatic, but always entertaining. You don’t want to miss it! Mark the 3rd Monday of the month on your calendars, or contact the library if you’d like to be added to our e-mail list.
Friday Movies at the Library (Fridays, 2:00 pm):
Our afternoon movies for adults continue. This month we’ll be walking on the wrong side of the law with some quirky films about hit men, con artists, secret tapes, and murder. Click here for movie titles and trailers.
BabyTime (Thursdays, 1:00 pm, starting Sept. 21):
Our BabyTime program for parents and babies 0 – 12 months will be starting up again in September. Join us for songs, rhymes, and stories with your little one, then enjoy sharing & socializing with other parents, while your baby enjoys some tummy time. Contact the library for more information.
After-School Activities (Wednesdays at 4:00, starting Sept. 20):
The library is a great place to go after school – to do homework, read, use the computers, or hang with your friends. Plus, activities on Wednesday afternoons. Come by and see what’s happening.
StoryTime (Fridays, 10ish):
Bring your toddler or preschooler (ages 5 & under) to the library for StoryTime Friday mornings at 10:00(ish). Our drop-in StoryTime is a great way to develop your child’s early literacy and group interaction skills in a fun and relaxed setting. StoryTime uses the Every Child Ready To Read pre-literacy programming to promote key skills that will help your child become a successful reader – through stories related to a theme, songs, rhymes & rhythm instruments, and a simple craft. New StoryTimers are always welcome!
LEGO Club (Saturdays, 10 – 12 noon):
Our drop-in LEGO Club (for ages 4 & up) continues on Saturday mornings between 10 and noon.
Art Workshops for Kids:
Our popular art workshops for kids will return this fall. Contact the Library for more info.
