Summer Youth Theatre at Canalfest
The Library and Theatre Night in Merrickville are partnering to celebrate Canada 150 by staging “Baldoon and the Blockhouse”, a one-act local history play written by Eleanor Glenn, with music by Marcia Phillips, and directed by Timothy Molloy.
Set in Merrickville in the 1830’s, the play is about 6 mischievous children and their plot to convince the Lockmaster that the Blockhouse is haunted. Our cast of 6 kids, aged 10-14, (and 2 adults) will be performing during Canalfest – Sat, Aug. 5 and Sun, Aug. 6 at 4:30 pm, in the Merrickville Blockhouse Park.
This is a fun play for the whole family. Admission is free, although donations will be accepted (proceeds to Rideau Bridge to Merrickville). We hope to see you there!
