What’s Happening in March

March will be full of March Break activities – and more!  Check out this month’s line-up!

March Break Activities!
Come to the Library during March Break for lots of fun activities for school-aged kids. Please Note: Space is limited – contact the library to register (or call 613-269-3326).

StoryTime Yoga (Sat, Mar. 11, 10:30 am):
Stories and stretches for younger kids (age 3-6). Come learn some simple yoga poses and then we’ll use them to act out a story!

Beading Blitz! (Mon., Mar. 13, 2:00 pm):
Join us to make some fabulous bead creations to decorate your room, your backpack, or yourself. We’ll be making bead suncatchers, creatures, and jewelry. For ages 5+.

Make Your Own Slime (Tues, Mar. 14, 2:00 pm):
Science has never been so much fun. Join our “slime experts” and learn how to make your own squishy slime to play with and take home. Be prepared to get messy! For ages 6+.

Build a Giant Marble Run (Wed., Mar. 15, 2:00 pm):
Ever wonder how big a marble run you could build at the library? Let’s find out! We’ve got the tubes and the marbles – you bring your engineering ingenuity and let’s see how awesome we can get. For ages 6+.

Snowflake Stencil Art! (Thurs, Mar. 16, 2:00 pm):
Although we hope the snow will soon be gone, we can’t resist the chance to make a lovely snowflake stencil collage. Older kids can experiment with making snowflake cards. For ages 5+.

LEGO + Green Screen Photos (Fri, Mar. 17, 2:00 pm):
Come build with us! Build something great, then we’ll take your picture with our green screen and put you into your LEGO creation. For ages 5+.

StoryTime (Fridays, 10ish) runs every Friday (including March Break). Join us for stories, songs & rhymes and a simple craft.

LEGO Club (Saturdays, 10 – 12):
Bring a friend and come for brick-building fun on Saturday mornings.

More March Activities!

Coding for Kids (Thursday evenings):
Interested in computers? A new session of coding will be starting up on Thurs evenings after March Break. Join Drew Avis to create a project in the Python programming language. Contact the library to join our group. For ages 10+.

Off the Shelf! (Mon, Mar. 20, 7:00 pm):
Off the Shelf continues to delight audiences with short stories and other literary gems for adult listeners. Expect the unexpected!

Art Workshops (Sat, Mar. 25, 1:00 pm):
Gloria Stowell & Kathy Brown continue to lead our young artists in creating art that celebrates Canada. This month we’ll be making a 3D “Land of the Silver Birch” collage.
For ages 8+. Registration required.

Friday Movies at the Library (Fridays, 2:00):
Check our homepage to find out this month’s featured films for adults. Bring a friend and enjoy a relaxing afternoon of big screen entertainment.
